Documentation Screening (OV: English)
+ After Rave
The origins of electronic music are often neglected, Germanized and depoliticized. Geographically, electronic music and raves may have many origins, but socio-culturally, the origin is easier to pinpoint: it was and is BPoC and queer people who made the culture what it is.
To facilitate sharing and discussion about our local scene, we will watch a documentary that dives into the scene of Toronto, Canada, released in 2023.
OUTRAVE is a documentary that „explores the connections between 2SLGBTQ+ people and electronic music, from the origins of house to today’s massive global rave culture.“
Denise Benson, director and protagonist of „OUTRAVE“, will join us digitally after the movie to answer your questions
